  Public Safety Education Coordinator - Fire Department
San Rafael Fire Department is looking for a volunteer with experience in Public Education (especially public safety) that would like to work with the hottest Fire Department in the County. Duties would include getting safety messages out to the press, giving safety presentations to kids and adults, maintain supplies etc. There could be many duties involved depending on how much time a person could offer to the position, and tasks could be adjusted depending on available hours.   

Concierge at City Hall
Directs visitors to proper departments at City Hall on Fifth Street, answers questions relating to City Hall activities and, at times, assists with light clerical duties. Monday to Friday, 3 hour shifts.

Emergency Preparedness Intern
Part-time unpaid internship position to contact local non-profit organizations regarding services they may require in the event of a disaster.  Ideally, this volunteer would have an interest in the Emergency Services field, be thorough in research and in follow-up activities. Minimum 4 month commitment.
 
Clean Campaign Ambassador
Work with San Rafael Clean Campaign at various cleanup events and with outreach to schools and the community to educate about the hazards of litter and benefits of recycling. Various days, times, skill requirements available.

What is the process for volunteering? First contact us to discuss opportunities and see if we have something that interests you. Then you will be asked to complete/submit the Application Form. Once we receive the form you will be scheduled for an interview. After the interview, we'll refer you to the department to see if there is a good match. If so, then a schedule is set up and training or orientation will begin. Thank you for your interest!
