Not a “bah-humbug” can be heard at
Falkirk Cultural Center on the first Friday evening in December when
guests arrive for the annual Dickens Holiday house party. With the
choral sounds of Singers Marin, the smells of cinnamon and spice from
freshly baked cookies and hot mulled wine and the sight of a
magnificent Father Christmas, the Victorian Holiday and Dickens
Celebration is the perfect sensory start to the Christmas season! Click
here to view our calendar and confirm this year’s dates.
Decorated with boughs, bows, and holly, the 1888 Queen Anne
mansion is displayed at its finest, and complimenting its beauty are
the various elegant and authentic Victorian garb worn by performers and
participants. This event is a wonderful way to go back in time,
celebrate Christmas with a Victorian flair and do it as a volunteer!
How it works: Volunteers are needed to help serve refreshments, help
with arts and crafts table and participate as a costumed character. Get
in the spirit of the Holidays!
Join us from 6-9 p.m. along with the Cultural Affairs Service League,
high school students, community service volunteers and others who have
participated in the past.
