BACKGROUND
The City of San Rafael Volunteer Program was created in 1996. We are proud to be a vital community resource for the City and its communities. Our purpose is to develop volunteers within City government and to partner with neighborhood and community groups to build a better San Rafael. We recruit volunteers for a variety of tasks, jobs, and projects, including our annual Daffodil Planting Days, our Spring and Fall Clean Up Days, the City Hall Concierge Desk and all the departments within City Hall. We count over 1,000 individuals as volunteers each year. Together, these stalwart citizens contribute over one million dollars of service to the City annually! This is a tremendous donation of time and energy deserving of special recognition which is a hallmark of our program.
