The Vietnamese American Friendship Group in San Rafael 

They host Vietnamese New Year Celebrations and recognition events thanking community members who give back through service and learning.  In addition, the group teaches Vietnamese language classes to the youth so they can retain a sense of their history and culture. Man Minh Phan, whose charisma and charm are known far and wide in the Bay Area, coordinates the group.  

In addition to his coordination efforts, Phan also teaches language classes, serves on City boards and committees including the past VPAC., and spends his mornings picking up recyclable materials around Pickleweed Park to raise money for Disabled Vietnamese Veterans in his home country.  To find out more about the VAFGSR, call Phan directly at 453-4136.
